Every Day Is A Gift …

The busyness of life often keeps us from acknowledging this well known fact. From the time we wake up to the time we fall asleep, we are bombarded by life’s responsibilities and the never-ending “To Do” lists both in our personal and professional lives.

One way to insert meaning and balance to our day is to ensure we carve out time to nurture our body, soul and spirit, ideally at the beginning of the day. Setting aside about 15 to 30 minutes every day for meditation, prayer, exercise, writing in our journals, or just about anything that rejuvenates us, will make us more effective at whatever tasks we take on during the day.

As with any new habit, give yourself a few weeks for it to take. Remember don’t beat yourself up if you miss a day. There is always hope in tomorrow.

Merry Christmas!

As we celebrate Christmas Day with family and friends, I wanted to share one of the most beautiful songs ever written, Mary Did You Know – a song about the miracle birth and the awesome power of Christ. Steve Amerson, tenor, recently performed an amazing rendition with the Plano Symphony in the DFW area.

Watch him perform this song (at another event). Here are the lyrics coined by Mark Lowery; music by Buddy Greene …

Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you’ve delivered, will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know that your baby boy will make a blind man see?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when you kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God.

The blind will see, the deaf will hear and the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the mute will speak, the praises of the lamb.

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven’s perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you’re holding is the great I am.
